Specific Treatments
The treatment programs are primarily natural substances including minerals, amino acids, vitamins and herbs.
However, if a suitable natural substance is not available for the particular indication and a pharmaceutical drug is more appropriate then it will be prescribed. The action and effects of the drug will be discussed prior to consent and commencement.
All treatments and treatment changes will be monitored on a weekly basis in advanced cases and monthly in stable cases. Changes in treatment will be dictated by the changes in the clinical and biochemical response and this will be determined through blood tests, clinical examination and radiological screening. Some medicines are not registered for general use, these medications will be discussed and consents for them will be required.
Diets in cancer are often clouded in confusion as to what to have or not have. The staff at Resort To Health have researched the science of diets extensively. The diet we recommend is not based on dogma or any belief system but more on accurate and up to date scientific research.
There is strong evidence in the scientific literature which has been used to construct this diet.
MEDICINES USED
These are a range of oral formulas derived from the curcumin family of herbs. They work in conjunction with other anti-inflammatory substances to reduce the inflammation in growth factors.
Genistein is a plant produced isoflavone, which becomes a phytoestrogen in mammals. Genistein has been studied extensively and shown in Vitro and in Vivo to be cytoxic and chemo sensitising to human cancer cells.
Green Tea is a popular beverage consumed around the world and is a rich source of polyphenols. EGCG (C-epigallocatechin-3-gallate), a polyphenolic compound, is the most active anti-cancer agent in green tea.
Epidermiological studies around the world reveal that incidences of stomach and prostate cancer are lower in areas where green tea is consumed on a regular basis.
Selenium has potent anti cancer effects. The protocol used involves the use of a mixture of organic and inorganic seleniums, both orally and intravenously.
Selenium has a direct inhibitory effect on cancer cells and is generally cancer specific.
Side effects of selenium overdose are weight loss, nausea, hair loss and gastro intestinal irritation. Patients on a high dose selenium program have regular selenium levels checked. Because the dose is closely monitored few side effects are encountered.
If blood Selenium levels do go too high then the dose of selenium will be adjusted to allow the levels to drop quickly with no lasting side effects.
Quercetin is a bioflavonoid found in the skins of oranges. It has a powerful antioxidant activity. It is used both intravenously and orally and included in most protocols.
No major side effects have been encountered.
At Resort to Health we have used Vitamin C in cancer treatments for 20 years. It is our firm view after reviewing the scientific literature and delivering Vitamin C as a treatment for many years that it is both effective and safe for cancer patients. Particularly as an adjunct to other therapies such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
MCP, also known as fractionated pectin, is a complex polysaccharide obtained from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits. Modified citrus pectin is rich in galactoside residues, giving it an affinity for certain types of cancer cells.
This oral medication lowers the copper in the body. Copper is responsible for stimulating increased blood vessel growth called angiogenesis. Control of copper allows control of blood vessel growth inhibiting cancer growth.
A treatment for the relief and prevention of Cardiovascular and Age-Related Diseases. Chelation Therapy has the ability to remove toxins and metals by using certain substances that bond to the toxic or improperly situated materials in the human body. The toxins are then passed out of the body through the urine. In response to the therapy, blood flow is increased and the whole body simply becomes more efficient.
An antidote for excessive mercury in the body. DMPS is used in the diagnosis of acute and chronic Mercury poisoning.
There are other medications not listed here that may be used in specific cases and under specific conditions as indicated. These will be discussed with the patient for consent prior to commencement.
All treatments can be stopped at any time by request. If you require more detailed explanations our staff are highly trained and more than willing to discuss and provide more detailed information.
